We recently recorded a Podcast with Dawn Murray from Living with pet bereavement who very kindly gave up her time to chat with us about the impact the loss of our companion animals has on us.
It’s a very tough subject which we all know will happen at some point, but never want to talk about it and with good reason.
With over two decades experience supporting pet carers pre, during and post the death of their much loved pets, multi award winning Dawn Murray is one of the UK’s leading pet bereavement counsellors. Dawn has always, and continues to, provide her counselling services free of charge.
Amongst her qualifications Dawn has Diploma’s in Pet Bereavement Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and worked for many years as a Pet Undertaker. She is a qualified Continued Professional Development (CPD) presenter.
Dawn is a tireless campaigner, highlighting pet bereavement and ambiguous loss and raising awareness of the help available to pet carers, she is also adamant that any help she provides will be free of charge. In recognition for her work Dawn was awarded a Points of Light Award in 2021 and in 2023 she was selected to be honoured with The British Citizen Award for Services to Healthcare after being nominated and recommended in recognition of her work.
Recognised as an expert in her field Dawn is described by the press as a ‘Pet Bereavement Specialist’.
