Dog Training In kent

Hi, I’m Mark — the principal trainer for SkellyWags Dog Training.

When I’m not teaching Scentwork, Puppy Classes, or running 1-1 dog training or other classes, you’ll probably find me geeking out over dog behaviour, writing something silly about Bert’s latest antics, or planning new ways to make training fun, rewarding and meaningful for every dog and human who joins our SkellyWags family.

I also wrote a book which will give you an insight into not only me, but the world of dog training too!

  • The Scent Shed.

More Than Just a Scent Shed – A Space Built for Dogs (and Their Humans) When I first started building what we now lovingly call the Scent Shed, I had one main idea in mind: creating a safe, calm, weather-proof space where dogs could sniff, search and just be dogs. But as the build has

  • I’m a Dog Trainer… Not a Social Media Content Creator

Somewhere along the way, dog training became very cinematic. Perfectly timed recalls.Dogs trotting politely past distractions.Slow-motion treats.Uplifting music. And not a muddy paw, chewed lead, or “what on earth was that?” moment in sight. And while I absolutely get it — social media is a powerful tool and, yes, it drives a lot of business these

About SkellyWags
Hi, I’m Mark, founder of SkellyWags

I’m a dog trainer with a pocket full of treats and a heart full of love for dogs especially one cheeky Collie named Bert, you may have heard of him.

I believe training should be fun, fair, and free from force or fear. That’s why I use positive reinforcement, kind and ethical training that helps dogs and their humans build brilliant bonds together through trust and care.

I’m passionate about helping people truly connect with their dogs whether we’re working in a group class, a one-to-one session, or even having a giggle in the garden with some scent games. Every dog and human duo is different, and I love finding ways to help each one thrive together.

Whether it’s teaching a recall, helping a nervous pup feel safe, or supporting new rescue owners to build trust. I’m all about creating training that feels joyful, stress free, and genuinely useful.

When I’m not working with clients, I’m usually found geeking out over dog behaviour, writing something silly about Bert’s latest antics, or dreaming up new ways to make training a treat for both ends of the lead and spending time with Bert.
If you’re ready to have fun, build a brilliant bond with your dog, and maybe laugh along the way you’re in the right place.
Here is a short book I wrote in 2024 and may give you an insight to the world of dog training and me.

As an Assessed and Qualified Member of The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers I am proud to display the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter symbol

A note from Bert on grief and goodbyes. “Hello, friends. It’s me, Bert and I must warn you this blog was a tough one to write. Today, I want to talk about something a bit heavier than usual. You see, not every story ends with muddy paws and squeaky toys, sometimes our leads go quiet,
