We had a lovely chat about all things dog first aid with Kathy and how Kathy found herself in the industry of educating us about our dogs and first aid.
After undergoing extensive training with registered members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Kathy is proud to deliver the Dog First Aid Emergency Canine Care course to like-minded dog guardians and professionals who share her passion for animal welfare.
Having a job which entails daily involvement with dog organisations and the opportunity to impart her life-saving skills to fellow animal lovers is a dream come true for Kathy.
During our chat we talked about some of the things our dogs may encounter like, choking, bloat, seizures, cut pads, poisoning, heatstroke, vomiting and more and when we may need to cary out dog first aid and also things to look out for. We also took the opportunity to talk about Christmas and the potential risks and dangers it has for our dogs at this time of year and what we can do to minimise those risks of our dogs swallowing things that are toxic to them.
It is clear that Kathy is not only very knowledgable about dog first aid but very passionate about animal welfare and doing the very best we can for our dogs.
Kathy runs online, and in person Dog first aid courses, which we have attended and host for our members, who always come away feeling that bit better for the knowledge gained.
Kathy will also be running courses in some parts of Kent in 2024.
